Children’s Church
Children’s Church is for all children from Pre-K through sixth grade, and we have nursery care for newborns through 3 years old. Once a month during the service, the children join one of our pastors on the steps of the chancel for Children’s Time, a brief story about the day’s Scripture. Afterward, the children go to their classrooms for a specially prepared lesson led by church volunteers, and parents pick up the children from their classrooms.
Registration for Children’s Church
We ask that parents register each of their children Children’s Church so that we have contact information readily available for emergencies and so that we can communicate any important information to you regarding the program. Please use this link to register or the QR Code. It only takes a few minutes to complete the form.
Children are divided into the following age groups:
Newborn to 3 years old are in the 3rd floor Nursery
Pre-K through second grade are in the 2nd floor Chapel
Third through sixth grade are in the 5th floor Library
Infants through three years old can spend worship time in our Nursery with two volunteers and plenty of toys. The can be brought directly into the nursery before the start of the service on all Sundays, unless otherwise noted.
Newborns - 3 years old
Pre-K - 2nd Grade
These young children begin to learn about God with stories, activities, crafts, and games, all centered around God and the Bible. They make friends and begin to learn about themselves, too.
We use a hybrid curriculum. One is a delightful approach called Godly Play, a Montessori-based program using storytelling and exploration play. The other, also based in story-telling, is the UCC’s Picture the Bible.
3rd-6th Grade
This group is in a pre-confirmation age of learning and exploration. The use Echo the Story, a discussion-based curriculum to explore their individual questions.
